But WHY is that the rule? Some rule reminders and explanations
There has been some genuine confusion from members lately about what is and isn't allowed within kennels, so I thought I'd clear it up with a quick reminder.
Rules:
7. This is a site for dogs and their owners. You may put up one non-doggy pic in your kennel as long as it is NOT the primary pic and it is relevant – eg the cat your dog shares a home with. You could therefore images of your cat in the profile for your dog but not in a profile of its own.
11. You should only upload photographs to which you own the rights. Failure to comply will result in the photographs being removed. Passing off other people’s photographs as your own could land you in hot water.
In addition, you should not create a second profile for a dog already on DoggySnaps, including sponsor dogs. I would also like to remind you that dogs that you do not own should not be added, even if you took the photos, unless you live with the dog or have some responsiblity for him/her.
Cartoons, fake images and drawings do not count as acceptable pictures.
There are a few reasons for these rules. Primarily, there are two:
1) Having more than one profile for a dog makes our data and statistics about the site inaccurate.
2) If we were audited and several duplicate kennels, joke kennels or kennels containing multiple dogs not owned by the kennel owner were discovered, the auditing commission could rightly claim that our numbers are false.
Hopefully that's cleared it up somewhat and you can understand the whats and whys! Any question, you know who to email / PM or you can leave your comments below!
